After work, more than 500 houses in the northeast of derbyshire are warmer and cheaper to improve their energy efficiency.

Rykneld Homes worked closely with his main entrepreneur Sustainable Business Services (UK) LTD (SBS) to provide the system for installing external wall insulation and other retrofitting measures for houses in the social housing stock of the North East Derbyshire Council.

The result is a reduction in the CO2 footprint of the houses by 966 tons per year – a lot that corresponds to the average petrol car 8.9 million miles.

The work is part of a wider Rykneld Homes project, in which 640 houses with external wall insulation are ultimately retrofitted. The insulation reduces the amount of heat graduate houses, which leads to a reduction in energy consumption.

The project is part of a two-year program for providing EWI and other work on non-traditional houses of 640 advice with the support of 8.2 million GBP from the government of the government of the government (SHDF).

Non-traditional apartment accounts for 40% of the NEDDC stock and contains any type of building that is not built with brick or stone walls and with tile or slate roofs. The houses, which are considered “difficult to treat” properties, have low energy efficiency ratings.

The North East Derbyshire District Council and Rykneld Capital Investment has set up the money received by SHDF, which was set up to improve the energy efficiency of socially rented houses.

Niall Clark, director of customer and strategic partnerships and deputy MD at Rykneld Homes, said: “The improvement of the houses in which our customers live is a priority for us. The feedback that we had previously had from customers was very positive. We look forward to making further progress in this and other systems that make our real estate the best houses you can be.

Further investments in the council and the possibilities from the upcoming program Wave 3 Warm Homes and other external financing options will hopefully enable this kind of work for other houses in the district by 2027 to 2027. “
