Three adults and three children were displaced after unattended cooking destroyed the kitchen and left smoke and heat formation throughout the house.
Lancaster, Pa. – Three adults and three children in Lancaster were driven after a fire destroyed the kitchen of their house on Friday evening and left smoke and heat damage in the rest of the house.
The Lafayette Fire Company reacted on February 7th at 7:55 p.m. to a house fire along the 2000 block of Lincoln Highway East.
The cause of the fire was randomly ruled due to the unattended kitchen, said Scott Hershey, fire chief of the Lafayette Fire Company.
The fire was contained within 15 minutes, but the firefighters spent another two hours overtaking on the scene, checked for Hot Spots and ventilated the house, said Hershey.
The residents of the house are supported by a restoration company and the American Red Cross.
