In order to inspire the youthful environmental protection and make the municipality more environmentally friendly, the Lompoc Public Library System will take part in the 16th annual free tree program of the neighborhood forest in spring.
Registered participants receive a free tree (6-12 inches) during the Earth Week (22nd to 27th April). The tree species will be announced in early April.
The neighborhood forest aims to deliver local fruit trees in all regions that they serve.
Those who register also have the option of donating or buying additional trees and tree -related educational products. Note: This is optional and all purchases/donations help to finance more free trees for children in the program.
Parents and legal guardians who want to register for the program can visit until March 15th https://www.neighborthoodforest.org/parent-registration/?school=97473.
Trees are delivered to the public library of Lompoc and the employees will contact the registrators when it is time to pick up the trees. The expected pick -up date is on April 22nd around the day of the earth.
Instructions for planting and supporting the trees and artendails are sent by e -mail a few days before delivery and are also accessible in the “Resources” section on the website of the neighborhood forest.
You can find more information about the program at www.neighborhoodforest.org or call the library at 805-875-8775.
