The historical Henry Green Madison Cabin In Rosewood Park there will be a little vacation.
The cabin, which was built in 1863 by the first black city council member Henry Green Madison for his wife and nine children, is located in the middle of a restoration process through a partnership between Austin Parks Foundation And the city Department of Parks and Recreation That was announced in 2023.
In the next few months, the cabin will be broken down and restored in a warehouse. As soon as the necessary work has been completed, it is put together again in Rosewood Park and accessible to the public.
