A rare modern house from the middle of the century, which was designed by the famous architect Philip Johnson, is for sale. The house in Hudson River designed in 1949 in Newburgh, New York, calls the Wolfshaus, is similar to one of the best-known works by Johnson, the Glass House in Connecticut, with the characteristic open floor plan of the architect and the architect's floor and cover window. After a four-year recovery that the house has attributed to its original state, the Wolfshouse is on the market for $ 2,900,000.

Johnson was commissioned to build Benjamin V. Wolf's house. The best known for the Glass House in New Canaan, Johnson (who is also behind the postmodern building 550 Madison Avenue in Midtown East and in the New York State Pavilion for the World Mass), designed over two dozen houses during his career.

The current owners of the house, creative directors and friends Jeremy Parker and Jiminie Ha bought the property in 2020 for 650,000 US they found in the Avery Architectural and Fine Arts Library from Columbia University.

As reported by the New York Times, the project included the replacement of the facade that was painted blue, with a new cypress wood parking track, the structure of the roof, the resumption of the original pine floors and the repeat of the bathroom.
In cooperation with the Swiss Company USM, Parker and HA, the kitchen with steel and wood, common materials in the middle of the century and recycled and reused parts were exhibited.
“As personalities with backgrounds in design and architecture, we believed that it was our responsibility to revive the house, as it was originally presented,” said Times Parker in an interview.
H and Parker transformed the house into an integrative cultural space with all year round. It was also listed as a short -term stay on Airbnb.

The two -story house measures around 4,000 square meters on a hill above the Hudson River and comprises four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The ground floor has a bedroom with bathroom, laundry and storage and is connected to the garage.
On one level, the main floor comprises the open living area and the family room with room -high windows, which is a mild view of the Hudson River frame.
An original wooden fireplace, which wood burns, anchors the room and separates the living room from the dining room and the kitchen. Other original elements are windows, doors and installations.

A covered balcony connects the living rooms via sliding doors with the main bedroom. There are two more bedrooms at this end of the floor.
Around 60 miles north of New York City in Orange County, New York, is known for Newburgh for its landscape landscape, the burgeoning city center and the beautiful, historical architecture.
