Times have changed significantly, but the southern house and garden show lasts as the main support in the annual event calendar of Greenville. And it draws visitors from Beyond Greenville An-Lyles said that a number of online tickets for this year's home show were bought by Western North Carolina, an area that was particularly hard by Helene.
The Southern Home and Garden Show has been a main support in Greenville since 1961 when she debut in the Old Greenville Memorial Auditorium.
“People on this market, when they are on the Hendersonville website, it is a quick 45-minute leap to the congress center, where they hit trading partners who can do anything and everyone,” said Lyles. “The beauty of the show is that you already have a warm introduction because you have no idea who runs this tour when you come to your home because the person who comes to your home comes nine times from 10 times from 10 have met. “”
Immediately after Helene, according to Lyles, many contractors have prioritized emergency repairs, who made work orders for everyday customers and increased the waiting for those who later called. “I think that people only say, okay, well, I called and called and called to get out of Helene, and I couldn't get them,” added Lyles. “Well, I'll see if I can find someone in the Southern Home and Garden Show.”
Designers, craftsmen and chefs
The 2025 edition of the home show, which takes place on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., offers a full garden center and a marketplace for garden decorations. And it brings back favorites like The Designer Showcase, in which three local designers – this year Kerry Clare by Randolph Estate Living, Debbie Wilson von Tweed and Lauren Carrington by Lauren Carrington interior design – full rooms based on a work of art from the Art and light gallery.
“I think it was very successful,” said Lyles, who presented the concept a few years ago. “The beautiful part is that the homeowner can come in and see how the designer used certain design elements, and he presses the everyday homeowner outside of his box, which simply paints the walls or moves this piece of furniture here or there. So that was a great success, and the designers achieved a fairly healthy return on investment. “
