LOWCOUNTRY, S.C. (WCIV) – The temperatures in the Lowcountry have finally dropped enough that you can break out your Christmas sweaters and head to a tree lighting near you!
Several communities around Charleston host their city's Christmas tree lighting events during the first full weekend in December. Charleston and North Charleston rang in the holiday season in style Friday night, but check below to find one near you coming soon:
Isle of Palms – Saturday, December 7, 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m
The City of Isle of Palms Holiday Street Festival and Tree Lighting begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the lighting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Parking is not permitted on Ocean Boulevard between Pavilion Drive and 10th Avenue as this section is closed to vehicles.
Free parking is available in the Isle of Palms municipal parking lot at 1174 Pavilion Drive. Roads are expected to reopen around 10 p.m.

Ravenel – Saturday, December 7, 5-7 p.m
The City of Ravenel will host its 6th Annual Depot Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Ravenel Train Depot at 5775 Highway 165 from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be live music, food trucks, a photo booth and more.
Lincolnville – Saturday, December 7, 6:00 p.m
Lincolnville's Christmas festivities begin with a parade at 4:00 p.m. (parade line-up begins at 2:30 p.m.) and a tree lighting at 6:00 p.m.
Parking is available at the baseball field and the entrance is on Front Street. The tree lighting, along with light refreshments and music, will take place directly behind City Hall on Broad Street.
North Charleston – Saturday, December 7, 4-8 p.m
Although there is no tree lighting planned for this event, it will still be a festive time. The City of North Charleston will host a Christmas festival and parade to celebrate the season at the Park Circle Community Building from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be children's activities, rides, a petting zoo and more. The parade begins at 5 p.m. at the intersection of Mixson Avenue and East Montague Avenue. Afterwards there will be visits with Santa Claus in the community building.
Admission and parking are free and the Park Circle will be closed to vehicle traffic at 2 p.m. Visitors are asked to bring their own chairs as there is no seating available. For more information click here.
