Two book fairs operated with nostalgia bring literary magic to the Grand Central District in St. Pete in March. Book + bottle and Pistil House (2533 1st Ave S) begin on March 14 with a jazzy book fair, followed by raffle books and good intentions (1900 1st Ave S), in which a community-powered book event organizes on March 24th.
A jazzy night with books and beautiful flowers
The book buyer of Book + Bottle, Dominic Howarth, turns Pistil House from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. into a port for book lovers from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. can enjoy live jazz from the House Cat Music while searching a curated selection of books with fresh flowers.
“The partnership was a child's play for us,” said Howarth. “Pistil House has such unique energy, and with its New Orleans roots and their love of jazz, a jazzy + Boozy Book Fair only made sense.”
Howarth carefully examined the meanings behind different flowers to create book pairings that correspond to their symbolism.

“For example, chrysanthemums have a rich history in East Asia and represent positivity and joy,” he said. “So we brought cozy, uplifting translations with us, which they complement perfectly.”
In addition to book pairings, Wowarth emphasized how important it is to bring books in new rooms.
“I think books are like natural water bodies – when they are nearby, their quality of life improves,” he said. “Independent bookstores have the power to bring books to people in which they are already gathering, and that is something very special.”
This event also leads to the fifth anniversary celebrations of Book + Bottle. The celebrations will continue on March 16 with a DJ and a bubble from 12 noon to 7 p.m., followed by an anniversary celebration after the hour on March 17 with the author Kristen Arnett. If you have never been, this book and wine shop is located in the 17th of 6th St. N.

A juicy book fair in a local vegan restaurant
On March 24th, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tombolo Books merged with good intentions for another nostalgic literary event. Guests can drink cocktails, search for a hand -picked book selection and buy from other local providers in the vegan restaurant in 1900 1st Ave South.
“Audrey Dingeman, owner of Good Inentions, originally brought up the idea of a book fair for adults,” said Kelsey Jagneaux, coordinator of Tombolo Books. “We both loved the idea of leaning into the nostalgia of the school book fair and restoring this excitement for adults.”
A curated series of books in honor of the month of women's history
The selection will include several genres, with a special focus on books of women in honor of the month of women's history.
“Our bookseller Rachel Knox curated an incredible list,” said Jagneaux. “If you know Rachel's reading habits, you know that it will be top level.”
In addition to the books, the event with book fairs in Buchmessen in childhood will remind you.

A new way for the community to connect
“Half of the fun of the Scholastic Book Fair gave her parents' money for magazines, bookmarks and accidental pens,” joked Jagneaux. “We wanted to make sure the element was part of the experience.”
With regard to the future of the Boozy Buchmesse, Jagneaux sees the potential that it becomes a recurring tradition.
“People want to combine rooms through books and be in the community,” she said. “A family -friendly version has already been spoken, but we will see how the first goes and takes it from there.”
