IVC Bachelor degree in industrial automation is closer at the start

IMperial – A new chapter in university education stands on the horizon for Imperial County. The Imperial Valley College has received a conditional approval from the office of the Californian Community Colleges Chancellor to offer a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Automation. This is the first time in the history of the college that a Bachelor's degree at IVC is available for local students.

“This milestone marks a crucial moment for our institution and our community, while we take a step closer to the change in the economic and educational landscape of the imperial district,” said superintendent/President Lennor M. Johnson, ed.

The program must continue to receive the final approval from the Accreditation Commission for Community and Junior Colleges. As soon as the Imperial Valley College has been granted, the program is fully entitled to start the program in order to offer the students new opportunities to make a career with high wages without leaving the region.

The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Automation at Imperial Valley College will provide students with advanced technical and management qualities in automation technologies, robotics, control systems and industrial networks. On the conclusion of the Associate of Science, the program builds on the use and management of computer technology and electronic systems in various industrial environments. The graduates will be willing to manage and guide automated operations in sectors such as mineral extraction, geothermal energy and other industrial fields, whereby the growing demand for qualified experts in this rapidly developing industry does justice to do justice.

These roles are increasingly as needed in industries that range from production and agriculture to energy and logistics. Programs like this are recognized worldwide to ensure international standards and global employment for graduates.

In a congratulations letter, the California Community Colleges, Chancellor Sonya Christian, praised the efforts of the college.

“This achievement is proof of the commitment, the vision and tireless efforts of her institution to expand educational opportunities that meet the developing needs of their community,” she wrote. “By offering this program, the Imperial Valley College plays a decisive role in the further development of the goals of Vision 2030.”

Christian also noted that the program at the meeting of the California Community Colleges Board of Governers as an object of information as an object of information and further underlines its nationwide importance.

If we offer a bachelor's degree, we not only take our students with specialized skills for their career with high wage career, but also take a brave step towards the eradicization of poverty in our country.”

He added: “And we do not stop here. IVC strives to start additional Bachelor courses to ensure that we fully meet the needs of our community. This is only the beginning of a new chapter for our college – one that offers more opportunities, greater economic mobility and an even stronger future for our students.”
