If you feel inspired by the warmer weather to pull yourself on the rubber gloves, take out the spring exchange and get into the spring cleaning, Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region (Habitat PKR) is here to help.
The restoration of the organization in the 55 Angeline Street North in Lindsay organizes a spring cleaning operator to help the residents to be prepared for their houses, offices and huts to prepare them for the summer after a long winter.
As a one-stop shop for donations, the Lindsay Restore accepts furniture, antiques, devices, electronics (also those that do not work!), Building materials, tools and other gently used household items that come from a smoke-free home. Donations can be discontinued at any time if the restoration of Lindsay is open (Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Donations to one of the three non -profit organizations of Habitat PKR in Lindsay, Peterborough and Lakefield can not only distract the waste of landfill, but also support the sale of the donated objects support the work of Habitat PKR to offer local families affordable home.
Those who have a larger donation or want to clean their houses or cottages on a trip can collect their donations completely free of charge by the Habitat PKR's procurement department.
The organization now has two trucks on the street, so that it is easy for the entire region of Peterborough and Kawarhas at home and in the entire Peterborough and Kawarthas region. Donation collection can be planned by contacting the procurement department at 705-652 0552 or Spend@habitatpkr.ca.
If you are starting renovation or deconstruction projects, the team can also carefully and efficiently reduce large integrated household items for donations, including worktops and cupboards, bathroom devices, door frames and much more. Habitat PKR also makes pick -up for family goods.

Donations worth 100 US dollars are entitled to a non -profit tax burden, and all recovery donors receive a voucher for a 25 percent discount, which can be used in one of the three restoring locations of Habitat PKR in Lindsay, Peterborough and Lakefield. If this is not enough incentive to donate, the 100th donor will receive a gift voucher of $ 25, which can be redeemed at any location, via all recovery.
If you only have time to donate, the restoration of Lindsay and other locations are always looking for volunteers at all ages and in relation to experience. The shifts are very flexible for the needs and preferences of the volunteer and can include work in the cash register, the repair of the electronics, the organization of donations or the use of their skills to help the procurement department.
In view of the fact that Habitat's homeowners have to make a contribution for 500 hours of their time, the volunteers often work with community members who were supported by funds that were brought in in the recovery that support affordable home ownership.
