Alarna Rose – Head of the purpose of Armadillo

Nowadays, people are becoming more careful about what is brought to their homes. In the conviction that our rooms should shed light on our values, consumers are looking for more of the brands that support them. You want to know who is behind the products you buy, how these pieces are made, and above all what your wider social and ecological effects have. During this time of increased consciousness, the ethical references of a brand should not only be regarded as a trend, but as an imperative.

In 2021, Armadillo was the first American and Australian carpet brand that was certified as a B Corp and joined a global community of 10,000 companies that reconcile profit and purpose. The strict certification process requires complete disclosure and documentation in all aspects of the business as well as regular checks to maintain the coveted status. As an accreditation of third -party providers, it offers valuable security that our customers invest in a really sustainable product.

Carpets that lie lightly

Luxury is often the ultimate aspiration in the design world. For us, true luxury leaves the world better than we have found it. Since 2009, Armadillo has been managed by the wish, not only at home, but in the wider world in which we live to have an impact, and create timeless carpets that are handmade by the best natural fibers so that they shed light on a footprint as possible. The determination of the B -Corp certification was a conscious step to strengthen our commitment for people and the planet, but there were many other puzzles.

In 2023 we became a carbon-neutral organization and published an impact report in which our long-term initiatives were described in line with the sustainable development goals of the United Nations. As gesture of transparency, we continue to share annual updates. The B -Corp certification of Armadillo, which evaluates our general effects as a company, is also supplemented by an ongoing partnership with the International Living Future Institute in order to measure the sustainability of the carpets itself. Each carpet is attached to a declarer label to interpret that it is 100% free of harmful toxins, materials and chemicals that threaten human health or the environment. For us it is not an end goal to use the business as a force for the good, but a ongoing journey.

Give BAck is that WAy Forward

Long before he became B Corp, Armadillo was obliged to give something back to the community. When our brand, born in Australia, was developed into an international company with eight exhibition rooms and a presence in more than 40 cities around the world, our philanthropic efforts are also being expanded. From the initially financing of a local school in India, in which many children of our craftsmen take part, we have now selected partnerships with ten non -profit organizations in four countries – each, in order to cause causes close to us, from equality of gender and environmental education to disabilities and arts.

At a time when many other companies go back their goals, we double our mission to make a difference. Last year we as a B -Korp with the highest score of every carpet brand and among the top 5 in the category of wider furniture. We have undertaken to scale our business responsibly and inspire other brands in the luxury interior in order to be agent positive changes. The B -Corp certification remains our Nordstern -a blueprint for a better future, in contrast to others, which causes us to continuously increase the bar. Due to the lens from B Corp, we not only measure success – we redefine it.
