Garden City — A Garden City local isn't messing around with his Christmas lights this year.
In fact, he did more than just deck the halls.
All so that the community he loves can experience it.
From strobes to Santa Claus to icicles, Donald Weaver has it all.
Weaver has been decking the halls in both Garden City and where he formerly lived in Florida for over 16 years.
He said he put 275,000 lights on and around his house and took 35 days to do it.
It took a lot of helping hands and an 80-foot elevator to get everything done.
“There are 17,800 and 60-foot extension cords here,” Weaver said.
A lighting director virtually his entire life, Weaver said lights are his passion and he is grateful to be able to share them with the community.
“It’s a lot of fun and makes people happy and we don’t take donations. It’s fun to see people’s smiles, especially the children,” he said.

Weaver added that he tried to make sure the lighting displays didn't block each other, almost like an open floor plan, so people can view the entire presentation at once.
He said he sources all of his lights from DW Warehouse in Dallas, Texas, and tries to use the same lights year after year but come up with different themes.
In this way he ensures that every year is different.
“The house at the front was blue and white. It was a “Let it snow” theme. This year we changed it and it's red and white. We have different stuff in the front and the back has changed a little bit,” Weaver said.
ABC 15 asked him how much everything cost.
He said the total cost is about $90,000 and there are multiple cameras throughout the property to keep an eye on the lights.
He also had all the lights turned on on November 30th so that people could walk with him on his property every night of the week from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
