Buffalo, NY – Tuesday was a one -year anniversary of extreme weather rarity in the second largest city in the state of New York.
On August 5, 2024, an EF-1 tornado Buffalo's lower west side met.
While the city is not strange to extremes and strict winter weather weather events such as Lake Effect Snow Storms and occasional snow storms, a tornado was a “first” for many queen inhabitants.
The Twister uprooted large trees and damaged several houses and buildings.
Many of the lost trees have been replaced and the damaged buildings have been repaired since then.
An exception is a multi -storey commercial property in Niagara Street 257 near Carolina Street.
When the Twister came through the roof, the building was torn down, in which Store -Fronten and apartments were housed in the floors on the ground floor.
A year later, the shops work like normal, but the roof while they are buttoned still needs an exchange.
Accordingly, the apartments there are not occupied under a convict of the city of Buffalo.
The owner of the building did not return calls who have requested a comment, but according to a shop for employees, it is expected to be able to start these floors seriously in the next week.
