The elected Olubadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, asked the revival of Ibadan's historical houses and asked Mogajis (compound heads) to make her traditional connections habitable again.
In his residence in Bodija, the former governor of Oyo, when Hundreds of Mogajis visited him at the weekend that many traditional houses were abandoned when their depot banks moved to wealthy districts or abroad.
“Being a Mogaji is not just an honor, but a responsibility. We are not allowed to give up our stem houses. Our presence is crucial for the younger generation mentoring,” said Ladoja, adding that the renovation of these houses could help to contain social vice such as drug abuse.
He revealed that he had renovated his family house in ISIAL renovation and plans to regularly visit it as Olubadan. Ladoja also praised Mogajis, who have already contributed to the development of education and community, and asked others to align themselves with his vision for a living Ibadan.
In response, Chief congratulated Asimiyu Ariori, leader of the Ibadan Mogajis, on his upcoming crowning glory, which was planned for September 26, 2025, and promised her full support.
