Sam Hunt Racing has announced a partnership with Oregon State University (OSU) for the upcoming Nascar Xfinity Series (NXS) event at Portland International Raceway. In cooperation, OSU will organize the main partner of driver Dean Thompson and No. 26 Osu / Thompson Pipe Group GR Supra.

The Pacific Office Automation 147 is planned and marked for Saturday, August 30th and marks the fourth annual run of the event in the northwest of Pacific.

It is the only independent NXS event in the region that promotes considerable local commitment and university studs. The car from Thompson will contain unmistakable Beavers Branding and promote a message about academic excellence, innovation and regional connection.

Rob Odom, Vice President of University Relations and Marketing for Oregon State University, commented on the partnership. “As a nationwide university of Oregon, we are proud to welcome Nascar back to Portland and to share our pride with the many Nascar fans of the Beaver Nation,” said Odom.

Dean Thompson, who will give his track debut in front of Osu's home audience, shared his excitement. “I look forward to driving in Portland for the first time and giving the hometown of people with the Osu Beavers on the bonnet of our GR Supra,” said Thompson. “We have advanced very advanced on road courses all year round, and I look forward to driving hard for the local fan and the OSU supporters to bring a great result home. It will be a great experience to visit the university on Friday and bring the Nascar world to the front door of the Beaver Nation.”

The event will be broadcast live on the CW, whereby the radio report on MRN and Siriusxm Nascar Radio (Chapter 90) is available.
