Work on Haigh Woodland Railway, an important part of the 20 million pounds of Haigh Woodland Park through the Wigan Council.
Chris Ready, portfolio owner for communities, said: “Thanks to the hard work of volunteers and employees, the previous work on the railroad was considerable.
“It is a large part of Haigh's heir.
“I can't wait until we were back here, old and new visitors on the railroad.”
The restoration included the removal of the old route, the distance, leveling and drainage improvement.
The Council assigned £ 380,000 to return the railway by 2026, which celebrates its 40th anniversary.
The broader renovation scheme includes the restoration of Haigh Hall, Bothy Yard and Cottages, the kitchen and the walled gardens, plantation gates, a new comet trail and a forest focus.
