The Livingston Arts Council has announced the appointment of its first executive director.
The appointment of Dana Wnuk is intended to mark a “decisive new era” for the organization and for art and culture in Livingston County. The council has and operates the historic Howell Opera House. WNUK's leadership will run the work of the Council and promote the long -awaited renovation and restoration of the opera house.
In a publication it says: “The Howell Opera House is an impressive example of the Victorian architecture in the heart of the city center of Howell in 1881. Its facade reflects the grace and character of the late 19th century, while inside the interior caves, in the rising blankets, the decorated woodwork, the high wölden window and the elegant detail, the days with the Livingston County cultural cultivated were classified.
For more than two decades, LAC has been working on maintaining the landmark and enriching the community through programs such as concerts in the courthouse, exhibitions and events that include the audience from all over the region. The renovated first floor now welcomes hundreds of meetings every year, but the historic second floor has remained quiet and untouched.
The momentum builds up when the preparations renovate and restore the second floor and transform the Howell Opera House into a living center of creativity, connection and community life. The LAC works with architects to reinterpret his future. While the ongoing fundraising campaign continues to maintain daily operations, the organization now lines the foundations for an upcoming capital campaign that will significantly advance the restoration and renovation of this historical symbol.
Wnuk said: “As the first managing director of the council, I am happy to take actions. The Howell Opera House was considered a project that is in the balance, a best secret secret, or for some impossible undertaking. We now end.
WNUK brings more than 15 years of experience in the management of non -profit organizations in fundraising campaigns, commitment to the community and the organizational transformation. She has worked with art, cultural and educational organizations to strengthen the support of donors, to start new programs and to lead the most important renovation efforts. Their background revolves around the structure of the systems, resources and partnerships that convert ambitious community projects into reality. Wnuk, a resident of Gregory, has a degree in corporate management and business from the Eastern Michigan University. For her communal approach and her belief in the power of the arts, she is recognized, combined, lifting and transforming “.
