South Bend, Ind. – The Studenbaker Museum announced the opening of “A Bear's Natural Habitat: The Return of Fozzie Bear's Studenbaker”.
This marks the restoration of one of Hollywood's most famous cars. The exhibition will open on Wednesday and executed until February 9, 2026, the first public exhibition of the fully restored vehicle is marked.
It shows the Studenbaker Commander from 1951 driven by Fozzie Bear and Kermit the Frog in Jim Hensons “The Muppet Movie” (1979). The commander is known for his lively psychedelic color scheme, that of Dr. Teeth & the Electric Mayhem was created in the film and has prevailed by Razorfly Studios of 18-month restoration.
Visitors can see the car for the first time in the museum's Carmichana Bullet Nose Gallery in its restored fame.
The exhibition also contains a photo series that documents the restoration process, insights into modifications for the use of Jim Henson's team on the screen and the history of the car in 1951, his career from Hollywood, until his return home in the museum.
