Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal said preparations are underway to create a conducive environment for the upcoming elections.
Regarding the preparations for the election scheduled for Falgun 21, Minister Aryal announced that joint patrols will be launched to ensure peace and security.
“To create a conducive environment for the elections and ensure peace and security, we will conduct joint patrols with security forces. During this process, we will also conduct arms recovery operations,” Minister Aryal said.
He added that the same security forces will also work to recover weapons looted during the prisoners' movement and the Janajati (indigenous) movement.
“Our analysis suggests that these weapons should not fall into the hands of organized groups. Political parties must declare that they will not use such weapons recovered from the prisoners,” Aryal said.
