The trend towards browns, earth tones and warm metallic tones continues in lighting design in the form of antique finishes and classic lighting styles. “Next year we’ll see a lot of vintage-style lighting that focuses on aged brass finishes and warmer bronze and copper tones instead of black,” says Schlegelmilch. She also points to the rise of materials such as alabaster, known for its unique texture that provides a familiar, vintage feel and radiates a warm, even light.

As people spend more time at home, well-being focused lighting has become a key element in living spaces. “People want to feel a connection to nature, especially in the darker months, and mimicking natural light cycles helps with that,” says Greaney. Homeowners are investing in smart lighting features with calming and relaxing modes and lighting automation that adjusts light temperature and brightness throughout the day to align with natural circadian rhythms, allowing for better sleep and productivity, as well as a deeper connection to their surroundings support financially.
