Clyde's of Chevy Chase (5441 Wisconsin Ave) will be temporarily closed for renovations beginning Saturday, November 1st and is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, November 5th as the restaurant undergoes a major, multi-million dollar upgrade.

The renovation plan includes replacing the roof and all heating and air conditioning systems, updating the dining rooms and converting the Race Bar into a more event and live music friendly space. The additional work will continue through the fall, with the restaurant planning to limit further closures as the project progresses.

In a message to guests, President and CEO John McDonnell said Clyde's is investing several million dollars in the project to bring the restaurant back to the standards guests expect. McDonnell acknowledged that the improvements are overdue, noting that uncertainty over the restaurant's lease has delayed major upgrades. Now that the lease has been extended, he said the restaurant is fully committed to revitalizing the space.

“We look forward to regaining your trust,” McDonnell wrote, thanking guests for their patience during the renovation.
