Cedarhurst wants to add independent living homes in Illinois

Cedarhurst Senior Living will add 56 independent living homes to Cedarhurst of Springfield, according to a news release.

The new cottages, scheduled to open in spring 2027, will include two-bedroom plans, walk-in closets, full kitchen appliances, home washer and dryer, private garages with electric vehicle charging stations, covered patios and gas fireplaces.

Amenities include a clubhouse with dining options, a dog park, a putting green and a fitness center. Residents also have access to activity programs, therapy services and transportation at the Cedarhurst of Springfield assisted living and memory care community.

Friendship Village Tempe moves forward with five-story independent living building

Construction is underway on phase three of the 50-acre Friendship Village Tempe campus in Tempe, Arizona, according to a press release.

The project removes an existing structure and adds a five-story, 175,900-square-foot building. Major completion is planned for the end of 2027.

This final phase will add 69 IL apartments, two guest suites and underground parking spaces. Residences include one- and two-bedroom floor plans ranging in size from 909 to 2,396 square feet, including a penthouse option.

Amenities include a newly remodeled restaurant and lounge with duckpin bowling on the fifth floor, a spa and clinic area, club rooms and a group training area. Residents will also have access to earlier phases with rooftop pickleball courts and a full-service rooftop restaurant and microbrewery, the release said.

Bonaventure Senior Living executives recently gathered to celebrate the opening of Bonaventure of Milwaukie, a new senior living community in Milwaukie, Oregon, according to a press release.

The community will offer independent living, assisted living and memory care services in studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans with kitchenettes, heating and air conditioning controls for each room and emergency alarm systems.

The community's resort-like amenities include chef-prepared meals, a golf simulator, a fitness center, a library, a hair salon, game rooms, courtyards and hiking trails.

Jenner's Pond unveils renovated Mundell Health Center in Pennsylvania

Jenner's Pond senior care community in Chester County, Pennsylvania, part of the Simpson Senior Services community system, recently opened a newly renovated health center, according to a news release.

The Pastor Jim and Betty Mundell Health Center has been remodeled to transform skilled nursing and memory care services into a “person-centered household model,” the release said.

Designed by Lenhardt Rogers Architecture and built by David Funk & Sons, the project creates four households, each with its own kitchen, dining and living room, activity rooms and outdoor areas.

New features for the memory care expansion include a therapy gym with physical, occupational and speech therapies, as well as a sensory garden, the release said.
