Godox introduced the iA32, iM20 and iM22 flashes, three compact and stylish on-camera flashes that won't break the bank.

These new additions to the lineup offer special features tailored to different shooting styles, environments and user needs.

Godox already offers a diverse range of studio flash units and portable flash units. The iA32, iM20 and iM22 continue this tradition by paying attention to portability and functionality while offering unique use cases.

Compact and lightweight, the iA32 is designed for photographers who value ease of use. Its adjustable flash head offers angles from -7° to 90° and enables indirect light for softer shadows and nuanced lighting effects. This could be suitable for different scenarios from portrait photography to shooting events. The iA32 offers both automatic and manual modes. Auto mode displays recommended shooting distances based on ISO and aperture, while Manual mode allows power adjustments in eight levels from 1/128 to full power.

Godox says the iA32 runs on two AA batteries and delivers up to 490 flashes at full power with a 2.5 second recharge time. It is compatible with most camera models via a single contact hot shoe. This makes the iA32 portable for various environments, such as weddings, street photography or editorial shoots.

In contrast, the iM20 and iM22 mini flash units are specifically designed for compact and travel cameras. Weighing only 31 grams or 34 grams. The iM20 is particularly suitable for smaller cameras with a fixed lens. Its compact shape (3.9 x 3.8 x 29.5 centimeters) stays close to the camera.

The iM22 is slightly larger (5.7 x 4.0 x 22 centimeters) and offers higher light emission, making it ideal for larger lens setups. The most important features of both models are: an internal lithium battery that should enable up to 440 flashes at full power per charge, five adjustable power levels and a charging time of three seconds. The integrated USB-C charging port ensures photographers can charge quickly, reducing downtime during longer shoots.

The design differences between iM20 and iM22 highlight their specific applications. The iM20's compact size and light weight make it ideal for everyday street photography or occasional travel documentation. The snug fit on the camera ensures portability, allowing photographers to focus on their subjects without distractions. On the other hand, the taller build of the iM22 offers better coverage for more complex setups, such as portraits or scenes that require higher light intensity. This makes it suitable for enthusiasts and professionals who work with different lenses and shooting scenarios.

The single-contact hot shoe design of both models ensures wide compatibility with a range of cameras, including DSLRs and mirrorless systems.

Prices and availability

All three flashes are coming soon, according to B&H, and are priced at $33.90 for the Godox IM22 or IM20 and $49.90 for the IA32.
