CES 2025: Introducing next-generation multi-protocol technology along with the new X2 touchscreen controller
Shelly used CES 2025 to announce that the company is deepening its commitment to the smart home world with the launch of its Gen4 series. a new collection of devices that could be a practical solution for anyone looking to build or upgrade their home automation.
The Bulgarian brand's reputation for affordability and cross-platform compatibility is already well established among smart home enthusiasts, and the new range takes things to a new level with improved multi-protocol support.
Whether you want to use Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee or Matter, Shelly Gen4 devices are designed to fit seamlessly into any existing smart home ecosystem.
The updated Shelly devices allow users to switch between protocols on the fly, meaning they can use a device in the way that works best for their home, while maintaining secure and seamless connectivity.
The new range covers a wide range of connected devices with relays, sensors and plug-and-play modules to help you automate power, lighting, heating, security, energy management and more.
The Gen4 products, like many products in the Shelly range, also work well with major platforms such as Google Home and Alexa, and thanks to Matter compatibility, Apple HomeKit integration is also available.
Highlights of the new product range include the Shelly Plug US Gen4, an upgrade to Shelly's popular Smart Plug.
The new version gives users control of lights and 120V devices up to 1800W with built-in power management features.
Another addition is the Shelly Flood Sensor Gen4, a wireless water leak sensor that sends real-time alerts when water is detected, preventing damage from leaks and flooding.
