Award-winning designers and architects at Jackson Design & Remodeling have released their annual list of top trends for the new year and predict that home designs in 2025 will provide a sense of comfort and comfort that soothes all the senses.
Warm tones and the craftsmanship and romance of the past will inspire the luxury and comfort of today's homes.
According to Jackson Design & Remodeling's senior interior designer Jen Pinto, “A warm and inviting home is the ultimate goal of home design in 2025, especially inspired by Old World and romantic ideas.” We love the emphasis on design details such as texture, finishes and lighting that add character to the design and bring it to life.”
This year's color trends are decidedly rich and earthy with nature-influenced blues and greens. Pantone declared “Mocha Mousse” the color of the year for 2025, describing it as “refined and lush, but at the same time an unpretentious classic.”
Each year, Jackson Design & Remodeling's design team collaborates and is featured in major outlets including The Wall Street Journal, LingerHGTV, Architectural Digest And USA todayshares his list of top interior design trends.
Here's a look at the team's forecast.
Cozy atmosphere
The coziness trend is all about creating harmony in the home with warm, homey interiors and elements that feel comfortable and luxurious.
Warm, earthy tones and color saturation
Brown, terracotta and rich green tones bring nature into the home and create grounded and calming spaces. Color drenching—painting walls, ceilings, doors, and trim the same color—takes this trend even further, creating a cocooning effect.
Romantic silhouettes
Soft and luxurious romance returns to your home with a wave of touchable fabrics, floral notes and an emphasis on charming vignettes that create intimacy.
Old world and nostalgia
Vintage-inspired spaces and accessories are on the rise as people look to bring the comfort and romance of the past into today's homes.
Architectural warmth infused with wood
Natural wood architectural elements such as ceiling beams, paneling, wall paneling and cabinetry combine two trends of 2025 – an emphasis on nature and an appreciation for Old World ideas.
Handcrafted natural materials
“Honest” materials that have imperfections – reclaimed wood, brick, raw concrete and natural stones – add visual depth to interiors.
Red accents
The classic idea of red as an accent color was re-inspired last year by the viral TikTok trend “Unexpected Red,” which highlighted the magic that happens when you add a little red to a room that you wouldn't necessarily believe “fits”. This trend can surprisingly liven up your space.
Eat-in kitchens
Eating in the kitchen isn't really a trend – we all do it, right? – but creating a dedicated space for communal dining in the kitchen will be popular in 2025.
Oversized islands
The largest islands are becoming larger as people seek more space in the kitchen, the center of family life and social gatherings. Serving multiple purposes for prepping, cooking, socializing and storage, the extra-large island is a hero in the kitchen.
Sensory design
This year's sensory design trend captures the overarching emphasis on warmth, coziness and cocooning and extends it to all the senses – from the relaxing scent of a candle to the feel of soft, textured fabrics.
