Rudolph Schindler is one of the most famous modernist architects of South California and was a close friend and professional rival by Richard Neutra. As a result, it is a great news when one of its residences comes onto the market – and this renovated house in Hollywood Hills has been restored to keep Schindler's original design with modern amenities.
The historical residence of JH and Margaret Druckman in the outpost was graciously not affected by the recent forest fires. It was built in 1941 and is located on the slope and remains the original aesthetics, including the original blocking sphere, trapezoidal cladding window, high -flying rays and a decorative fireplace.
When entering the property from the middle of the century, visitors can get into the open living and dining room that connects to the kitchen, or a few steps to the private quarter in which the bedrooms are located. When it moves through its rooms, it still feels with sculptural cupboards, book rules and built -in interventions that create a warm and rich material palette.
The house was gently modernized, especially with redesigned bathing rooms and kitchens, a new roof, the sanitary and HLK systems and a new hot water. The hardwood floors of the building were reworked and a new gate and security alarm system were installed, while the landscape design with drought-resistant California plants was installed and is better suited for the climate.
It is listed by Lilian Pfaff from Modern California House and William Baker by the agency with a price of USD 3.295 million.
