Airzone, a leading European manufacturer of HVAC control and integration systems, has officially started operations in the UK. The expansion comes at a crucial time for the UK as it works towards its government target of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Founded in 1997, Airzone is known for its energy-efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions that aim to reduce energy consumption in heating and cooling – a key driver of global carbon emissions. The UK expansion includes the creation of a dedicated sales team focused on working with HVAC installers, designers and integrators to provide insight and data on customer needs and specifications.
Focus on energy performance and regulatory changes
The Airzone team will focus on improving energy performance in residential and commercial buildings while increasing comfort and reducing costs. The company will also focus on multifamily properties such as hotels and offices, integrating HVAC systems that improve heating, cooling and indoor air quality.
The UK regulatory landscape continues to evolve. The Future Homes and Buildings Standards are due to come into force in 2025 and require the use of low-carbon technologies such as air source heat pumps. Airzone's HVAC control systems are designed to seamlessly integrate with these technologies, providing property owners and facility managers a streamlined path to meeting the new standards.
Commenting on the expansion, Fernando de la Cruz, EMEA director of new markets at Airzone, said: “From 2025, new buildings will have to comply with the Future Homes Standard and improved energy performance targets. Our solutions close the gap to energy efficient, compliant buildings.”
Partnerships and certifications
Airzone's systems are compatible with over 170 HVAC brands, including Daikin, Mitsubishi and Panasonic. The company has globally recognized ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certifications, ensuring compliance with sustainable building standards such as BREEAM and LEED.
At recent industry events, including the Smart Buildings Show and CIBSE's Build2Perform Live in London, Airzone previewed its residential and multifamily solutions. The company received positive feedback for its ability to support compliance with increasingly stringent energy regulations.
Innovation and sustainability
Nick Webb, Airzone’s UK and Ireland sales account manager, commented: “Visitors to both shows recognized that smarter HVAC controls are essential to meeting energy standards and creating a sustainable built environment. Our systems provide efficiency without compromising occupant comfort.”
Airzone highlighted its commitment to innovation to make British buildings more energy efficient and sustainable, providing cost-effective, compliant solutions for a range of properties, from homes to hotels and offices, all in line with the UK's sustainability goals.
