Madison, Wis. – On February 8, 2024, two tornados tore through Evansville. This is the first time that a tornado ended up in the history of the state of Wisconsin.
Almost 40 of the houses and real estate have been restored since last February.
Connie Ardnt lost three barns and a garage in the storm.
“I would not want a tornado to anyone,” said Arndt.
She remembered that she was in the basement during the storm.
News 3 now spoke to locals in Evansville. The community is grateful for the volunteers who came together according to the tornados.
“The support was such an undeniable love,” said Ardnt.
Austin Schmelzer is the chairman of the Tornado Task Force in February. He directed efforts to help the needy.
“We didn't necessarily know what we did and how we could help. And we only took what we had, what we had, and got it up to date,” said Schmelzer.
A year later, Ardnt still has to clean up.
Nobody died during the tornados.
The storms caused damage worth more than $ 2 million.
“We have learned that there is a lot that you don't need, we found out that we are stronger than we think and our faith is stronger than we thought,” said Arndt.
