New Delhi Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said the CRPF has done a commendable job in combating Naxalism and restoring peace and stability in the northeastern states and Jammu and Kashmir.
According to an official statement, Shah said that the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) plays an important role in ensuring internal security and peace in the country.
The Home Minister said this during a visit to the CRPF headquarters where he met senior officers of the force, including its Director General Anish Dayal Singh.
During the visit, Shah got a comprehensive overview of the operations and administrative efficiency of the world's largest paramilitary force.
The CRPF has done commendable work in combating Naxalism and restoring peace and stability in the northeastern states and Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
The CRPF chief apprised the Home Minister about the various welfare programs being implemented for the families of the force's martyrs, including appointment of compassionate forces in the CRPF.
Shah stressed the importance of promoting Hindi in the day-to-day functioning of the armed forces to strengthen linguistic unity.
The Home Minister not only emphasized on the use of more and more 'Shri Ann' (millets) for better health of soldiers but also urged the soldiers to avail the benefits of Ayurveda and participate in 'Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan' to gain knowledge on to gain health The Prakriti of each individual promotes well-being and health.
Several senior Home Ministry officials, including Union Home Minister Govind Mohan, were present at the meeting.
