Back2Basics marks 15 years of young men who help young men to recover from the flagstaff-based drug abuse treatment center, which includes outdoor adventure as a healing component. The founder and CEO Roy Duprez says that the program continues to grow, and this summer Back2Basics added a new business center and a licensed residential facility for customers near the Rio de Flag and Flagstaff Urban Trail.
“We have been in use for about a month, “said Duprez from the new Back2Basics Homebase.” This is a unique opportunity. It is currently the heart of our program due to the layout and aesthetics. It has seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms to 1.2 hectares and offers more common room inside and outside than in the past. “
With a combination of concentrated, practical therapy with innovative and traditional advisory modalities, teaching and building life skills and its extensive program to restore adventures outdoors, Back2Basics served around 500 men.
Customers visit locations throughout Arizona, including Sedona, the San Francisco Peaks, the Oak Creek Canyon and elsewhere in the Coconino National Forest, especially at the weekend. They also travel to places such as the Grand Canyon National Park, the Antelope Canyon, the Tonto National Forest, White Mountains and Santa Catalina Mountains.
According to Duprez, the advantages of strong outdoor activities, including the development of self -confidence, participation in community service, a bond with nature and strengthening the connection between mind and body, which are the connection between the mind and mind.
Duprez stimulates these regular and exhausting outdoor activities that customers have freed their thoughts from the problems they have followed because they learn to defeat old addictive thinking patterns through the various outdoor adventures. “In my opinion, young adults have to be more active and committed. There must be a kind of carrot, not just a further lecture lecture.”
At Back2Basics, these carrots comprise hiking, cycling, kayaking and rafting in the warmer months, followed by skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing in the colder months.
A second arm of the Back2Basic treatment program includes the basics that focuses on the transition of customers from rehabilitation and recovery to the “real world” with long-term soberness. Many graduates of the first program go to the second.
Back2Basics now also accepts most commercial and private insurance plans and opens the treatment program for more people from all over the country. “There were more from outside of Arizona, but because we are now taking out insurance, we see more local customers.”
The 50 -year -old Duprez came to Flagstaff in 1993 to visit the Northern Arizona University. He moved to the area of recovery and mental health and started back2basics in 2010.
The program works directly with several non -profit organizations that collect donations and create a network of partnerships that can provide resources for the needy.
“Our foundations have collected scholarships worth 200,000 US dollars in the past two years, ”said Duprez to subsidize part of the tuition fees for customers on the way to recovery.
Duprez says he was intended to keep the Back2Basics program small and intimate for more individual care. “I feel so happy that we are still relevant and can work in this capacity.”
In addition, some customers have come back to help others go through recovery. “In their own development, some of our boys return to work with us as a consultant,” said Duprez. “I have 10-year-old alumni who are therapists and have their own private practices.”
At the 15-year-old brand, Duprez says that he is doing well for the program and life. “We have developed and helped more families. I sleep well at night because we have effective results.” Fbn
