(Sylva, NC) -Balsam Mountain Preserve, a private private living community in the Blue Ridge Mountains between the charming mountain towns of Sylva and Waynesville, announces the appointment of Allison Macke as the new Merchandiser of the club and brings a freshness to the Pro Shop experience.
A long -standing resident of Sylva established a strong local connection to the role. She recently completed her degree in professional golf management at the Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). The FGCU PGM program is a PGA-accredited path, one of only 16 nationwide, which gives the students essential skills and knowledge of successful careers in golf lead. Macke improved her skills through merchandising and golf operating capacities in several private clubs in Florida, including the Quail Creek Country Club and the West Bay Club as well as the Mountainop Golf Club in North Carolina.


“I am very happy to join the community at Balsam Mountain Preserve,” explains Macke. “After completing my degree, I gained invaluable professional experience in respected private clubs on my academic journey. I strive to improve the retail experience and look forward to designing a pro shop that reflects the unmistakable character and the reserved elegance of the balm Mountain Preserve.”
With a robust background in visual merchandising, high-end clothing selection and strategic inventory planning, Micke's passion is to promote increased retail and to create unforgettable, personalized interactions for members. She is a proud member of the Association of Golf Merchandisers and a 2025 Platinum Award recipient.
