The Louisville Home and Garden Show, which takes place from February 28th to March 2nd in the Kentucky Exposition Center, 937 Phillips Lane, offers a wealth of garden, landscape and home project lenses. One of dozens of exhibitors is Louisville Handyman & Remodeling, who has been serving local homeowners for more than 20 years.
Before the company was published, President Joe French and designer Denise Mengelot shared some of the trends for home design that they will discuss on the show. Some must be taken into account here if you want to renovate.

Functional flooring

Hardwood always remains a timeless selection for floor coverings, but it is also an expensive option that requires more maintenance. So it is no surprise to see luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) installations.

“Every day it comes with beautiful colors and selections that make it very attractive for many people – at different budget levels and different flavors,” said Meng.
The budget is often a determining factor, since LVP and LVP usually cost 50% to 70% less than hardwood. However, these vinyl options are not only friendly in the wallet, are also durable, which they are ideal for high-speed areas or in all houses with pets and children.

“So many people grew up with vinyl floors,” said French, “and I think in a way … the word” vinyl “throws this perspective in the minds of the people. They think of the soil with which they grew up, (( But it is) what is out there.
He adds that you have installed LVP and LVT in seven -digit houses just because it is a better choice for these abods.
“It is a great product and something that people really have to look at and think,” he said.
Better bathroom

Floating shelves can now be found in almost every room in the house, including in kitchens, living rooms and bathing rooms.
“It's just an entertaining way to add a different look to things,” said French.
He adds that another common bathroom application includes replacing the corner tubs. This applies to houses of all sizes. Homeowners often replace these tubs with a shower, which better uses the room in rooms with a smaller footprint.
“Well, if you have a larger footprint,” added French, “we will (often) install a nagging tub with a little variety. But if they are limited, it seems as if the rules have disappeared – the primary bathroom does not have to have a tub in it. “

These new showers often offer stylish grave bars. French explains that grave was earlier than unsightly and purely functional. However, today's playground companies offer a variety of options for improving the aesthetics of the bathrooms.
“In most cases, we will hand in a bar as part of the project,” said French, adding that the grave bars in their bathroom have nothing to do with age. Everyone with a twisted ankle or a knee injury will quickly understand how helpful a grave can be.
“It somehow surprises me … that we have all possible code changes to protect ourselves under the sun,” called French, “and we all know that the number one source (the injury) of people who aging and a Fall – but we don't need grave poles. … we always encourage it and many people take it on. “
Optimal organization
Another frequent request that the Louisville Handyman & Remodeling team often sees is to integrate special accommodations for pets. All of this can contain doors from a pet washstation in the washroom or special dogs so that Fido can enter and leave as he likes. These inquiries are usually combined with other organizational questions.
“Denk French all over the washroom,” (we are) only ensured that it is well organized. “
This could mean installing a reverb or cubbies and hooks so that small backpacks and coats can save. “It is just an attempt to say: How do we do the best of this room and do it functional for your family?”
He adds that regardless of what a homeowner provides for his conversion, he can see what it will look like before making final decisions. With a home design software called Chief Architect, French and his team generate a 3D rendering for checking. In this way, homeowners can take different colors, worktops, devices and more into account before you register for your renovation project.

“There is only an additional degree of trust,” said French, “and it lets them be part of the design process that people love.”
