1. Stripes

“I know stripes were big last year, but the trend has only grown in my world (and in my house!). Big, small, hand-drawn, mismatched – the fancier the better! I recently used painter's tape and a laser level to cover my entire office in dusty pink and cream stripes. It was a lot cheaper than wallpaper, and once I got the hang of it, it didn't give me too much of a headache. If you don't want to fully dive into this trend, here's a A striped pillow or a striped lampshade is a great option to try.

2. Curves

“Arches, rounded furniture and even gently curved edges on kitchen countertops have replaced right angles. I love the softness this gently curved shape brings to a room.”

3. Ventilation holes in the cabinet

“I loved seeing cabinets with small cutout patterns that appear mostly in kitchens and mudrooms. The look gives the cabinet an old-fashioned character and charm, especially with colorful cabinets.”

4. 90s nostalgia

“Some of my favorite '90s style trends have come full circle this year. Patterned wallpaper borders, charming gingham patterns, and beautiful oak furniture are making a modern comeback. As long as you're careful about your choice of elements, it's entirely possible to embrace the nostalgic design trends without making your space look dated.”

5. Tile patterns and mosaics

“I love anything that makes a room feel special, fun and elevated, and arranging colorful tiles (beyond just a checkerboard) in different patterns does all of that! It's fun to see how people can take simple, colorful tiles and arrange them to create such interesting patterns – stripes, checks, gingham and other geometric patterns. They become the focal point of a room.”

6. Dopamine Decor

“I love homes with a lot of personality, and lots of colors in a room will ensure that. I'm a big collector of things that I think are pretty, so it's been fun to see designs that celebrate the unique things that people find. It's really nice to bring all the personality into your home and not just live in it as if you're going to sell it at some point. Even if you use fancy wallpaper and fill every nook and cranny with your random bits and pieces.”

7. Color impregnation

“Having survived the era of gray, I'm here for spaces that are all about color—think monochromatic hues on walls, trim, and ceilings. Plus, drenching in color creates a cocoon-like effect that's so cozy. This trend is here to stay.”

8. Unpainted brass

“A big part of English country style is creating 'collected' spaces where nothing is too perfect. Take unpainted brass, the warm, ever-evolving metal that's ideal for high-wear areas like cabinet handles, faucet handles and light switch covers. The patina will continue to age over time, just like the rest of your perfect vintage look.”
