Myrtle Beach, SC (AP) -Carson Young blazed a 30-yard flop for Eagle on the Par-5-15. And shot a 7-below 64 shot on Saturday under rainy conditions to take over the third round in his home state of Myrtle Beach Classic.

Young, the 30-year-old former Clemson player from Anderson, South Carolina, had a total of 13 under 200 in Dunes Golf and Beach Club.

“It was cool to have a family out here and a few support with friends,” said Young. “I hear a few” go tiger! “Out there. It's cool to play golf here in my home state.

Harry Higgs was back after a 68.

“Enthusiastic to shoot under par.” Said Higgs. “I'm not great in the rain.”

The winner of the PGA Tour event -compared to a signature event at the Truist Championship this week -receives a place in the PGA championship, if not already justified.

On the PGA tour Winless Loseding Young also the Par-5 13th and Par-4 16. played a four-ledge route in 4.

“To be honest, it was a lot of fun outside, even with the rain, just because I did putts and made a few chip shots,” said Young. “I just played solid golf. Nothing too striking out there. But it was just really good golf.”

Mackenzie Hughes had 70 to return two shots. The Canadian shot a 63 to take over the lead in the first round and had a 69 on Friday to maintain a share in the top position.

Victor Perez had a 66, who joined Ryan Fox (68), Davis Shore (70), Norman Xiong (69) and Danny Walker (70) at 10 under.
