DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – The City of Davenport announced Monday the next round of homeowners to receive funds through the Davenport DREAM Project.
The city said it received 141 applications for $900,000 in available funding. 24 current homeowner projects and six new homeowner projects are tentatively eligible for DREAM awards.
In the first step, the recipients will be contacted by city employees to receive initial advice on their projects, the city said.
According to the city, applications for the sixth round of funding opened in August.
Since 2019, the Davenport DREAM Project has provided nearly $5.9 million to revitalize 252 properties in the city's historic districts, the city said.
“When one person invests in their home, it impacts the entire neighborhood,” said Bruce Berger, director of community and economic development. “We’ve seen how a new fence or a fresh coat of paint affects how people feel about their homes.”
The city said there is still money left for another four new home projects.
According to the city, applications are still being accepted for homeowners who have closed on a home in a Davenport DREAM Project neighborhood in the last 45 business days.
