Finding kid-friendly restaurants can be a tedious task; Look for ones with patios that welcome children And Well-behaved four-legged family members can seem downright impossible. There are many outdoor options for dining al fresco in Atlanta, but some are better suited to the whole family than others. Here is a select list of places where lidded cups and water bowls are welcome.

If you want Mexican:
Little Rey has a large, pebbled side garden to keep kids of all ages occupied, and a good kids' menu includes snacks like tacos and quesadillas at reasonable prices. Dogs are welcome on the patio, but it can get very crowded on weekends, which is something anxious pups should keep in mind. In Kirkwood, The Ministry of Finance has a gravel area where dogs can relax under umbrellas while children run around freely. There are even Big Daddy Biscuit treats for furry friends to purchase. Chido & Padre's in Buckhead features a grass-covered patio and kid-friendly menu options like fried chicken tacos. On the west side, Gopher taco And Bone Garden Cantina are both excellent options for easy, quick Mexican. Two notes: Dogs are only allowed in certain outdoor stalls at Tuza, and the Tinga de Pollo at Bone Garden might be a little spicy for younger children.
If you want pizza:
Smyrna is new Ruby's Sourdough Pizza There are excellent cakes with toppings that both kids and adults love, as well as plenty of outdoor seating around a huge screen. All Gentle mushrooms are kid and dog friendly, but the recently reopened Vinings location offers easy access to and from the covered patio as well as ceiling fans for air circulation. Children love the French bread pizza.

If you want high end:
indigo is a solid Beltline option, serving upscale Italian fare, including kid-friendly pizzas, on its shaded side patio. There is a large green area near the to-go operation with plenty of room to run if children or dogs need to get up and move. Pendolino in Sandy Springs features a lovely shaded overhang overlooking a lovely green space and seating area. It's perfect for letting little ones frolic between fluffy focaccia and crispy calamari, although the real winner for kids is the cheesy garlic bread. Le BilboquetBuckhead's patio is famous for its French flair, and well-behaved dogs and children are welcome to enjoy the scene. There's even a “secret” kids menu that consists of smaller portions of your favorite dishes.

If you want multiple quick options:
Lawn is a common denominator in child- and pet-friendly dining areas and both Chattahoochee Food Works And Downtown Alpharetta offer large lawns. At CFW, head to The Camp, an almost completely shaded area in front of Your 3rd Spot. Get food from stalls and restaurants Fox Bros. Bar-BQ and those developed by Andrew Zimmern and Pat LaFrieda Patty & Franks and set up shop near the low play structures. Downtown Alpharetta is more exposed to the sun and has only a thin patch of shade along the side Chiringabut what it lacks in coverage it makes up for in selection. There is a fountain that children use as a paddling pool, and there are recreational areas around the square Never enough thyme And Boarding pass coffee. Try a sit-down breakfast or lunch Chicken mother cooking housewhose location in Alpharetta is right on the square and has a spacious terrace.
If you want burgers and barbecue:
Wood's Chapel Grilling Summerhill has a large, enclosed gravel area in front of the smoker with a corn hole, chairs for kids to climb on, and plenty of picnic tables to eat smoked meats and sides. Grindhouse killer burgers The Memorial Drive location is a family gathering spot where puppies are welcome on the expansive, partially shaded patio and kids can choose from beef, turkey and vegetable burgers or a hot dog.
If you want beer:
Breweries have long been child and dog friendly. Places like Red's beer garden, Wild skyand the recently opened Grove at Monday Night Brewing are all great options for casual family dinners.
