For more than 60 years, the Wilson Medical Center has been proud to call Wilson our home, and as a leading provider in our community, we endeavor to offer high -quality care near home, to invest in the general well -being of the region and to have positive effects on those that we serve. This year's report underlines our continuous commitment to the best possible maintenance of the highest quality – both within and outside of our hospital walls.
The 2024 Community Benefit report by Wilson Medical Center underlines its continued efforts to fulfill the growing health needs of its community by welcoming new providers, adding and expanding service lines and continuously investing in its facilities and health care. For example, the Wilson Medical Center added three providers in pediatrics, primary care and urology in 2024 and invested more than 3.4 million US dollars in capital improvements, including sterilizers for surgical services, a new pharmacy system that was used for improved security and administration for medication, and therapy for prostate and an X-ray machine for education services.
These improvements have improved our ability to offer the highest quality of patient care. They ensure that the residents of the region and the surrounding communities do not have to leave the region for advanced medical needs.
In addition, the Wilson Medical Center laid a donation of more than 58 million US dollars for the needy and demonstrated his continuous commitment to ensure that everyone has access to care, regardless of their solvency.
The Wilson Medical Center is also dedicated to creating environments in which providers want to practice and want to work employees. In 2024, the hospital distributed more than 75 million US dollars of salaries, wages and services for its 810 employees, while they contributed more than 148,000 US dollars for professional development and tuition fees, so that all employees have the opportunity to learn, grow and improve care that they provide for their patients.
Last year, the organization paid $ 18,398,417 of local and state taxes and at the same time continued the support of local activities and organizations that had committed to the region, including OIC of Wilson, Seeds of Hope, the NC Whirig Festival, Wilson Chamber of Commerce, Wilson County Schools, Wilson Education Partnerships and Wilson. One of the more rewarding experiences of our employees is, if they are able to work with the Committee Committee of the Hospital, while we get in touch with the many great non -profit organizations that are so important for our residents.
We are lucky to name Wilson, and we are incredibly grateful for the continued support of all those who entrust our care to us. We are also grateful for the hard work and the commitment of our providers, employees and volunteers who enable everything. If we look into the future, we are still obliged to honor our inheritance and at the same time improve the many ways that we serve our neighbors and communities.
