After the attack by Russian kamikaze drones on January 21, 2025, Mykolaiv residents are actively rebuilding their damaged homes. So far, residents of Mykolaiv have submitted eight applications under the ERESToration program and are waiting for compensation.

According to the official, 52 residential buildings and around 10 private schools were damaged during the attack. Utilities and nonprofit organizations provided initial assistance by covering the windows with OSB boards and providing necessary construction materials. However, full recovery is possible only after an inspection and preparation of reports by the commission, which is the basis for compensation through first recovery.

Olena SiryachenkoA resident of Mykolaiv says she received mattresses, dishes and building materials from benefactors after the attack. Despite the help, she has to work a lot alone. The main problem is the lack of gas supply, which is promised to be restored only after repairing the roof and checking the ventilation ducts.

Another resident is also restoring his damaged home with his family. He received building materials but is forced to temporarily live with relatives as authorities have not offered alternative housing.

On the evening of January 21st, the enemy attacked the city with drones. As a result, a six-story residential building was damaged and 200 people were evacuated from the scene. The wave of explosions damaged the apartment windows in eight residential buildings, several private houses, an outpatient family clinic and the administrative building of a transport company.

As a result of the attack, 94 subscribers were cut off from electricity, cut off electricity in 14 houses and left 21 houses without heating. Administrative buildings, an outpatient family clinic and a transport company were damaged. Electric vehicles and new trolleybuses were badly damaged.

Last year, the ERESToration program conducted 1,436 inspections of facilities affected by Russian aggression. This made it possible to plan the restoration work and support the affected residents in collaboration with international organizations.
