Brockport, NY (WHAM) -The efforts to restore the historical Morgan-Manning-Haus, which was damaged by a fire at the beginning of this month, receives a large thrust thanks to local scouts.

Daisy TroOP 61756 was on duty on Wednesday at the Brockport Fire District station and organized a bottle trip to collect money for the matter.
“The community comes out and lets all bottles and doses,” said co-leader Maggie Culmone from the Troop-Co manager. “We have the bottle in the state in the state in the state in the bottle. They help us collect all bottles and give ourselves 6 cents per bottle.”
“It feels really good,” said troop member Katherine. “It burned down and it feels really good because you help your community.”
If you go to Brockport and mention the Morgan Manning House, you will find it difficult to find someone who doesn't know it.
“We grew up in Brockport,” said Sydni, a mother of one of the scouts. “I remember that I went there as a child. My children went there, my parents went there. We spent a lot of time there, especially Christmas, they have Santa Claus.”
“The Morgan-Manning-Haus is a cornerstone in the community,” said David Bannister, who donated to the trip. “Almost every child who makes the Brockport High School through the doors for a school trip.”
The house offers a history hour for so many generations.
The efforts to rebuild it offers a lesson in the community for these young scouts.
“I want our future generations to see it and all the special meanings in the house,” said Katherine. “If you can ever return your community, it is great to help.”
