*Appointment of department sheet officials for 75 clinding centers that are defined in zones.
The preparation of Ganesha Idols has already started in connection with the Gauri Ganesha Festival 2025.
A session led by the Chief Commissioner was held to discuss the complete ban and the restriction of the use of chemical colors, thermocol and plaster from Paris in the production of chemicals.
It was also decided that idols that were manufactured with these materials are confiscated and disposed of in accordance with the regulations.
In order to cope with the wet waste generated during the festival celebrations, precautions are taken to send the waste to the processing units of the BBMP.
The meeting emphasized that only environmentally friendly Ganesha idols have to be worshiped in the city. It was decided that criminal matters are submitted to people who are submitted to the production of Ganesha idols using prohibited materials such as the plaster of Paris.
Accordingly, the civil servants at the zone level are dependent on the discussions and decisions that were taken during the meeting under the chair of the chief commissioner on August 5, 205 to take the following measures to ensure an environmentally friendly Ganesha festival:
1. Permission process:
People who strive for permission to install public Ganesha idols must apply in the offices of the deputy executive engineers who are shown as knot officials at sub-department levels. The knot officials will coordinate with the police, Bescom, the fire brigade and other relevant departments in order to quickly maintain and grant approval via a single Window system.
2. Prohibition and implementation:
The production and sale of Ganesha idols using chemical colors, thermocol and plaster from Paris is strictly prohibited within the BBMP borders.
Knot officials from the respective BBMP sub-departments as well as officials from the police, fire and BESCR departments must inspect such manufacturing/sales areas, issue information, carry out location inspections and, after discovering violations of violations, submit fines, submit a quotation and submit the forbidden materials.
3. Value of confiscated materials:
Connected prohibited materials must be disposed of in accordance with the applicable regulations.
4. Promotion of environmentally friendly idols:
The idol manufacturers must be encouraged and instructed to only produce environmentally friendly idols from natural tone. Consciousness campaigns and ads are carried out to apply.
5. Home immersion and consciousness:
Citizens are encouraged to deepen small environmentally friendly idols at home in buckets, and the rest of the clay should be reused for garden or potted plants.
6. Immersion systems for large idols:
BBMP identifies the defined immersion locations in every station for larger idols and broadcasts this information broadly. If necessary, mobile immersion units are used within the war limits.
7. Temporary immersion locations and waste management:
To prevent pollution in lakes and temple ponds, temporary immersion tanks are generated nearby. The waste materials such as tone, flowers and plastic are separated – transformed waste are sent to the respective collection centers to wet waste processing units and dry waste.
Dedicated teams are used at immersion locations to ensure public security. Necessary precautions such as ambulances, medical personnel, lighting, barricades, sound systems and trained swimmers (including NDRF teams) are taken.
8. AButment of the surveillance and node officers:
Zonal commissioners appoint one surveillance officer per zone and one knot official per station to monitor the activities related to immersion.
9. Receiving the plastic ban:
In each zone, enforcement teams are formed to monitor illegal sale and the use of plastic, and violations are punished according to the rules.
10. Facilitation and authorizations:
The celebration of an environmentally friendly Ganesha Festival is supported, and the necessary authorizations are given under the conditions given by BBMP, police authority, fire brigade, Bescom and the state pollution control board of Karnataka.
*Establishment of 75 single window centers.
In order to optimize the process of issuing permissions for the installation of Ganesha idols, 75 individual window centers are set up in sub-departments within BBMP boundaries.
Officials from BBMP, police, Bescom and the fire brigade will be present in these centers to grant approval from a single location.
