The former Royal Harwich Village Assisted Living Living Facility in Harwich will later begin his new life as residential development this year.
The area in the 328 Bank Street was converted into the Dylan James Apartments with 26 new apartments into two side-by-side buildings.
The larger building, which was built in the 1900s, has four floors, while the smaller one, which was built in 1985, has two. The mixture of units comprises two studios, eight one bedroom and 16 two bedrooms. Developers expect the project to be ready for occupancy in August. The demonstrations begin in May.
Rent for the start at $ 1,800 for studios and a bedroom and $ 2,400 for two bedrooms.
“We have not set up anything by the state that is listed as an affordable living space, but we accept all payment forms and vouchers,” said marketing coordinator for Newman Properties Kevin Leech. The accepted payments and vouchers include section 8, home base and raft, said Leech.
The HomeBase program helps families to claim emergency accommodation by providing up to $ 30,000 with the option of a third year for over two years, and living aid for families in transition (raft) short-term emergency financing for evacuation, forced, loss of utilities and other housing notations.
Establishment for assisted living in 2019 closed
The supervised facility was closed in 2019 and was free for about two months before Newman Properties of Broocline and Longfellow Design bought it with plans to stretch the buildings and to turn them into houses in the residents of capcaps for the whole year.
The renovation process began at the end of 2022. The renovation work includes hardwood floor, kitchens with granite worktops and stainless steel devices as well as tiled bathrooms.
Some units have laundry in the unit, but laundry is also provided for the entire building. Half of the units also has private outside terraces or verands.
