I spent 5 hours low to clean my new place - 6 tasks I am glad that I didn't skip

Key points

  • A deep cleaning before pulling in creates an empty slate and makes it so that the room can be used completely.
  • Always clean the top down to make sure that a fallen dirt, dust or dirt is absorbed.
  • Make sure to clean windows, cupboards, devices, showering, tubs, toilets and hardware like buttons.

Moving can be so exciting – very fresh starts and empty canvases – but it is also not without stress. The high reward is definitely at high costs between finding the right place, completing the paperwork and expanding the movable logistics.

For me, one of these costs is the initial deep cleaning – the one that happens before the moving companies arrived. It can be exhausting and time -consuming, but it also leaves the room as fresh and clean as it should be an empty canvas.

I just moved to my new apartment and after four hours of cleaning these are the six cleaning tasks I am So I am glad that I was not skipped.

Dust

The first task was to wipe off all shelves and devices before he wanted to do anything else. They should always clean technically from top to bottom, but I'm often forgiving with myself.

Since this was a complete cleaning of my brand new (for me) apartment, I knew that I had to be as thorough as possible. As my roommate and I ensured that the dust bag did not land on the floor before it was attached to something else, they later landed what was later cleaned by the abundant ladies, wipe and vacuuming.

Feating, wiping and sucking dust

Since no furniture had to be cleaned, the next rules of procedure were the floors. I swept, wiped and finally suck while my roommate searched the bathroom.

First I swept the whole apartment twice: once with outer shoes (since we didn't know how much dirt, dust or general dirt were built) and the second time with slippers. When I saw that the sweep didn't take up so much dirt, I switched to wipe.

I wiped the whole place once and called it a day because the next morning we would have the reversal to the area and they would go through the room with shoes switched on.

The next day after the creators left, I sucked the entire place and followed with a second round of the wiping.

When I tackled the floors, my roommate went straight to the bathroom. Before she started anything, she put a descolating solution over the shower head (which we will soon change) to soak during this entire process.

She sprayed the cleaning bubbles across the entire shower, and while it sat and his magic did, she scrubbed the inside of the toilet and wiped outwards – seat, lid, tank and everything.

She gave the same treatment into the sink and then returned to scrub the cleaning spray away, which was sitting in the shower. Then she sprayed the shower, the tub and the toilet with a cleaning solution on a bleaching -based basis for a good measure.

She resolved the descent solution when she was done with everything and let the water run for a few minutes.

Wipe the windows

Since we have moved to the top floor of our building (not impressed, it is only the fourth), our windows are particularly susceptible to the outdoor elements. The windows were quite Dirty when we arrived there, but we didn't notice how bad it was until I cleaned the first window.

With a simple window cleaner I cleaned the inside of the windows and the outside twice. I did this by replacing the upper part of the window and leaning into the apartment. I also paid attention to cleaning the window traces and rocky spots.

The difference was amazing; Only a simple window cleaning left the entire apartment as bright as clean.

I admit that I have not yet got to clean all window screens, but I know exactly what to do when I get to it.

The building changed our devices for all new ones before we move in (now you can OH and AHH), so that it was not as much to do here as it would normally do. The stove was in great form, so we left it alone.

I wiped the stainless steel fridge while my roommate cleaned the new water filter before I installed it on the sink. We also wiped out all the cupboards and drawers and stacked.

Finally (for now) we brought a magical eraser to the walls. Between the tiny dents to move the furniture from our dirty, dusty fingers after all this cleaning, this was a non -assignable last step.

There are definitely more in the category of the organization – and many of these tasks will need a second or third time as soon as we have settled in about a week more – but for the first day this was a great basis for fresh house in our new home.
