Experts agree that it is time to cancel polished brass devices. “Polished brass has been an undesirable, dated finish for decades, especially when it comes to door knobs and sanitary adjustments that were often seen in houses in the 1980s and 1990s,” says Designer Micaela Quinton.
How can I repair my dated brass?

Include rustic materials
This first method is the cheapest because you only have to fill your space with things that weaken the shiny gold finish. “Consider using a traditional or European -inspired look by involving warm wooden elements,” says Micaela. Concentrate on balancing the glamor hardware with the warm, worn textures in rustic antiques – this could be all, from a rustic wooden frame to an ancient medicine cabinet – of course with a Chippy wood -finish – cabinet on the opposite wall.

Make yourself brave to distract
Another technology approved by designers? Go brave everywhere so that nobody notices these shiny brass fittings or buttons. “Often dark, rich colors such as Forest Green, Peacock Blue and Chocolate Brown can really complement the brass finish and feel intended in the room,” says designer from Tennessee, Debbie Mathews Leroy.
Exchange for a better brass
Do you love the brass look, but want it to be a bit more timeless? “It really depends on the actual brass finish, since some brass stresses can appear cheap and out of date, while others can look warm, classic and rich,” says Debbie. Both you and Micaela recommend working with not adequate brass that will become patina over the years and is left with a charming unique finish. Antiqued and brushed brass also brings the same timeless charm.
Choose nicer polished materials
If you are ready for a complete overhaul, skip the brass completely and go with a trendy, but-free nickel. “Chrome offers a similar shine, but with a warmer, more sophisticated tone that increases and feels classic,” says Micaela. Nickel will also wear well over time and make sure that you have a stylish bathroom that will lead you to a trend over the next few decades.
