San Marino, California (KABC) – In just a few weeks, the residents of Southern California were affected by a storm, massive and destructive forest fires and now the risk of an in -depth storm.
As homeowners in combustion scars who deal according to potential dirt and mud flows, people also deal with possible licks and other storm damage.
“It was very chaotic and we try to do what we can to protect these people and keep them dry … because a large one, the owner of the Green Ladder Roofing based in Pasadena.
He told Eyewitness News that they received an average of around 200 daily calls.
“What we see now is the consequences of wind damage. All these houses left it completely.”
Reyes says that he carried out emergency repairs and tarping, but, like other Dachherde experts who demand real estate owners, demand potential damage.
“Many time people call us the day before the storm or on the day of the storm … and it gives us very little time to make a permanent repair.”
Sean Tweedy, office and project manager with C.& D -roof, says that homeowners should first check drainage on their property.
“Some of the greatest, potentially terrible problems we saw.”
Dean Tweedy explained what he should pay attention to when repairing a roof. He showed on black spots on a roof where there were once tiny rocks.
“The pebbles should protect the tar from the sun, but when the UV rays burn away, the rain comes and washes it away. So there is really nothing that protects the roof from the elements,” he said .
Insurance experts also recommend that you prepare for possible floods, regardless of whether you lay your car on higher ground or lay valuables in endangered areas.
“If you have a basement that usually floods, your valuables move from the basement … let these things be directed to higher soil and prevent losses,” said Janet Ruiz from the Insurance Information Institute.
Another step that roof and insurance experts recommend is the documentation: Recording photos or videos of your roof, as is currently preventing and any damage after the storm, preventive measures and any damage.
