The Liberation based in Zurich offers large-scale stationary energy storage systems from used and excess EV batteries. The company has opened a new battery -upcycling production system near Zurich near Zurich. The new system is designed for an annual capacity of 500 MWh by 2026 and can scale up to 1 GWH.
The 7,000 square meter system is based on a high level of automation and enables large -scale battery storage production. The production site is located in the same premises as the Swiss battery recycling company Libec, creating regional synergies along the supply chain.
The modular storage systems that are generated in the location area in capacity of 97 kWh to 60 MWh.
“The demand for energy storage solutions continues to grow and the reuse of EV batteries, since inpatient energy storage units exhaust great potential for the European camp market,” says Stefan Bahamonde, CEO and co-founder of Libation. “Our new production room enables us to react flexibly to market requirements and at the same time make a significant contribution to maintaining resources in Europe. Thanks to the automation, we can not only work efficiently, but also economically and to meet our capacity to scale exactly.”
Security has a top priority: each battery experiences a thorough inspection process. Multi -layer security systems and continuous monitoring in the entire life cycle of the battery ensure reliable and safe operation. “Safety is of great importance in our systems. We can guarantee the highest safety standards for every storage unit through automated production and strict quality controls,” adds Bahamonde.
