NMMC includes environmentally friendly GaneshotSav with Sama Modak Rangoli

Belapur: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has initiated an innovative initiative for Mark Ganeshofsav as a “state festival”, which combines tradition with environmental awareness. In cooperation with Prabhat Trust, the Civic body supported the creation of a Grand Seed Modak Rangoli and shows over 3,000 environmentally friendly modacs from indigenous seeds processed with soil.

The Rangoli was first exhibited at the Ghansoli train station from August 28th to 29th, and similar displays are planned in Koparkhairane (August 31 to September 1) and Vashi (September 3 to September 4). Volunteers also carry out consciousness drives for waste separation, plastic dangers and organ donation.

Seed Modaks are distributed at Anant Chaturthi, September 6th at immersion locations under the “Niropala ROP” campaign in order to plant citizens and to maintain the city's green assets.
