Duane Neely, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and veteran of the US Army, died on Friday, June 6, 2025, in Spring Hill, Tennessee. He was born in Iowa on November 3, 1935 and lived a full life in services, family and faith.
Duane served his country honestly in the US Army, where he developed the discipline and work morality that would define his life. After his military service, he built up a successful career as a respected Kirby vacuum distributor who is known not only for his entrepreneurial spirit, but also for his integrity, reliability and commitment to those.
He is survived by his beloved wife Joyce, with whom he shared love and dedication for a lifetime. Together they raised five children, Michael Neely, Bruce Neely, Kevin Neely (Juanita), Scott Neely (Kim) and Kerin Neely.
Duane was a proud grandfather of two grandchildren Cameron Neely and Jordan Neely, who brought him immense pride and joy. One of his greatest joys in later years was to watch his grandchildren do sports – proudly continued. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Emily Brewer (Ciden) and Nikki Hinsdale (James); four great -grandchildren; Sister Nancy Brogden and several nieces and nephews.
He precedes his parents Noel Neely and Margaret Whitney Neely in their death; His beloved son Bruce, whose memory remained near him; Brother Dan Nely; and two sisters, Janice Riordan and Cheryl Berning.
Duane, a man with a quiet strength, will be remembered for his constant presence, his gentle spirit and his unshakable love for his family. His legacy lives in the life he touched and the values he conveyed.
A private family service is held to honor his life. A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, June 29, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Franklin Marriott Cool Springs. Everyone who knew and loved Duane are welcome to participate and share memories.
Instead of flowers, the family asks that in Duane's memory, actions of friendliness are carried out, which reflects the way he lived his life. Donations can also be made of the American Cancer Society in memory of his son Bruce or the American Heart Association.
