Building on the success of their first location “Zero Bills” in Walthamstow, Octopus and GS8, together with a revolutionary microgrid design, have developed the 113 -Home location -the largest house builder of the house manufacturer -so far.
The innovative scheme will have a centralized battery storage, so that solar energy can be seamlessly shared between the properties.
The OCTOPUS accredited location is developed in accordance with the “Planet-positive frame of GS8”, which means that it follows zero-waste principles and stores more carbon in the houses than is necessary for construction and maintaining.
Octopus 'Zero Bills' tariff, which was introduced in 2022 5-10 years. In Thornwood development, 35 houses are offered from affordable rent, with the first properties started in April this year. The plans are shaped and tailored by the needs of the local community and will introduce several new public spaces with houses that borders on a nature reserve.
Octopus Energy aims to deliver 100,000 'zero bills' houses by 2030, and has already introduced the initiative in Germany and New Zealand as well as Great Britain.

Octopus has already accredited well over 1,000 'zero bills' houses through contracts with a number of prominent developers. Accredited houses include affordable and private rent as well as private and common owners.
