San Francisco, CA – November 2025 – OpenDroidsa robotics startup focused on practical home and workplace automation announced today that its humanoid robot has done so completed a full load of the dishwasher about twice as fast as the Neo robot from 1X Technologiesdespite operation about 1/100 of the capital raised by its better-financed competitor.
In a recent demonstration of a side-by-side kitchen, the OpenDroids robot and Neo were tasked with it, respectively Loading a standard dishwasher with dishes from a countertop and sink. Under comparable conditions, the OpenDroids unit roughly completed the job half the timeshows what the company calls “capital efficient automation” Achieve more with significantly less money.
“Everyone is talking about billion-dollar robots. - Real task, real environment – No lab tricks. A standard kitchen, real dishes and a common household appliance.
- Direct comparison – Same core task: identify dishes, grab them and load them into the appropriate baskets.
- Capital Efficiency – OpenDroids claims to have issued 1/100 of Neo financing and still delivered faster real-world performance in this test.
