ANDOVER – The park has one less war memorial these days as the World War I cannon has been removed from its location for much-needed restoration work.
Christopher Kun, foreman with the Parks and Grounds Division of the Department of Public Works, said workers from both his department and the Forestry Division removed the cannon on Dec. 26. Kun said the cannon is being restored by the Greater Lawrence Technical School.
